Admittedly, it is only now that we again try our very best to attend the Eucharistic celebrations and risk the chance of blood pressure rising due to children riots, what with Ponso and Paco in tow, while prayerfully meditating in front of the holy body of Christ. But Pope Francis somehow changed the scheme of things a bit with his holy brazen ways of dealing the questions on faith and everything that comes with the Catholic faith. Just recently, Bishop Soc Villegas criticized the way the Rolling Stone magazine compared Pope Francis with Pope Benedict XVI. But simple people with simple faith like us cannot but compare the difference. Even Thelma, who attended World Youth Day 2005 in Germany, once wondered aloud what it might have been if it was Pope Francis who graced the event.
We love Sting, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stone, and even dream of one day traveling the Silk Road. We fight global warming in our own small way, and we do not know who Eric Church is.
But Pope Francis rocks.
